Drugs and Suicide Training has been borne out of a need within the communities of Northern Ireland. The founding members of 'DAST' have worked within the communities of Northern Ireland with adults and young people alike for over two decades. We have worked in communities where there has been great loss from both the misuse of drugs and alcohol and also suicide.
With more and more pressure on our already stretched health care services, more need is being put on the community to solve or at least contribute to solving these issues. By equipping both the community and community workers with the tools they need to recognise drug misuse and suicidal persons, we can empower them to do something practical about it.
We believe we provide quality training to community workers, parents, professionals, youth workers, health care workers, homeless support workers and to young people interested in drugs and suicide awareness.
It is our hope that we are part of the solution in working towards safer communities.
